I’ve been using the Horizon 7.8 AT for regular runs and interval training, and it’s been very solid. The treadmill feels stable even at higher speeds, the motor is quiet and powerful, and the deck has a comfortable balance of firmness and cushioning. Incline changes are smooth, controls are easy to use, and it handles daily workouts without issue. Overall, it’s a dependable treadmill that performs exactly how I need it to.
Suraj –
I purchased the Horizon 7.8 after comparing several residential treadmills in this class, focusing mainly on structural stability, motor behavior under load, and long-term usability rather than features. From a build standpoint, the frame feels rigid and well-balanced, with no noticeable flex during faster runs. The deck has a firm, controlled feel that absorbs impact without the “spongy” response common in lighter machines.
The motor performance has been consistent and predictable. Speed and incline changes are smooth, with no lag or abrupt transitions, which matters when doing interval work. Noise levels are reasonable and do not increase disproportionately under sustained use, which suggests the drivetrain is not being pushed near its limits during normal training.
The console design is functional and straightforward. I appreciate that essential metrics are clearly displayed without unnecessary menus or distractions. Incline control is precise and repeatable, making the treadmill adaptable for both steady-state walking and more demanding workouts.
This is not a commercial treadmill, and it doesn’t try to be. However, for a residential user who values mechanical reliability, controlled performance, and sensible design choices, the Horizon 7.8 feels like a well-considered machine. It has performed as expected, which, from an engineering perspective, is exactly what you want.

After owning a ProForm that was nothing but problems, I was honestly hesitant to buy another treadmill. I’m SO glad I went with the Horizon 7.8 AT instead. Huge difference in build quality, smoother run, faster speed changes, and just feels solid overall. Wish I had made the switch sooner. Zero regrets.

The Horizon Fitness 7.8 AT Treadmill is a solid machine. It does what it’s supposed to do—runs smooth, feels stable, and has enough features without being overly complicated.
Price was fair for what you get, and the free shipping was a plus. Ordering through Treadmill Outlet was straightforward and everything showed up as expected.
Overall, no real complaints. It’s a good treadmill and gets the job done.
